Host Terms
Marketplace relationship
GuestPlate provides technology that helps independent Hosts connect and transact with Guests. Hosts do not work for GuestPlate. Each Host independently controls their menu, prices, availability, preparation practices, pickup options, and delivery services. Hosts are responsible for determining and meeting the laws, permits, disclosures, tax obligations, and food-safety requirements that apply to their products and operations. GuestPlate may review information, request documentation, or remove listings to support marketplace trust, but GuestPlate does not operate the Host’s food business or prepare the Host’s food.
Independent business
GuestPlate does not own or have an ownership interest in a Host’s independent business. Hosts are independent food businesses or producers who use GuestPlate’s marketplace technology to connect and transact with their Guests. Hosts decide whether and when to use GuestPlate, create their own menus, set their own prices and quantities, choose their operating days and hours, decide whether to offer pickup, delivery, or both, prepare and package their own food, supply their own ingredients, equipment, facilities, labor, and transportation, and may sell through other platforms or directly to their customers.
Expenses and obligations
Hosts are responsible for their own business expenses, taxes, permits, food-safety practices, insurance, and legal compliance.
Classification
These terms describe the intended relationship. A written statement alone does not determine anyone's legal classification. [Attorney review required.]
Fees
GuestPlate may collect a platform commission from transactions. [Fee schedule to be drafted before ordering launches.]
